What’s in my make up bag?

I have a confession – I am addicted to make up.

Some people splurge on shoes, handbags or new clothes – for me it is make up.

My make up collection at home is a little out of hand, spreading over a drawer, a box and a large vanity case. But I cannot help myself when I see a new beautiful product to play with in the stores! My favourite brands are Estee Lauder, Chanel, Benefit, Urban Decay and Mac.

As much as I have this huge collection I end up using the same staple items most days, especially when I am working in the week as I only give myself 10mins to do my make up (sleep is more important to me than being glam in the office!).

I also travel often and need to curate my collection down to a more travel friendly size.

This weekend we stayed with Simon’s brother and his fiancee and I took the chance to take a snap of my classic make up look;

Make up bagKate Spade – this was part of my birthday present from Simon. I absolutely adore Kate Spade, I love Seahorses, and the main colour is close to our wedding colour. Combine that into my love of make up and make up bags and you have the most amazing birthday present! The travel make up pouch perfectly fits my staple items.

PrimerUrban Decay – my current primer is Urban Decay pore perfecting. I love the staying power of all Urban Decay products. I have two of their Naked palettes and it is clear to see why they are such a cult product. This primer helps my make up go on easier and stay on all day.

FoundationEstee Lauder – I have tried so many foundations over my life. Powders, creams, liquid, and probably each of these in every brand out there. By far the best one I have found is Estee Lauder double wear. The foundation goes on easily with a brush, and lasts all day long. I have tested it in 12 hours of air conditioning, out in rainy wet weather, and in hot dry heat – and I continue to be impressed that by the end of the day my foundation still looks fresh.

To help the product last I finish off the with Estee Lauder loose powder, which I brush over my full face.

Top tip – the Estee Lauder site always has great offers and you get free samples you can choose with every order. When my Estee products run out I will only buy from their site as I always get so many amazing freebies!

BlushBenefit – I love the creamy blusher Fine One One – it is a fantastic coral colour with in built contouring. I sweep a little Coralista powder blush over the top to ensure the colour lasts all day. (Can you see the theme here that although I love make up I hate the thought of having to re-apply and touch up in the day so pick ones that look great all day…)

EyesBobbi Brown and Benefit – I have a great Bobbi Brown palette that creates a great nude eye. It includes a mini mascara, brush and powder eye liner. This is perfect for travelling as it includes all you need to create a great eye look. I then highlight the brow bone with High Beam. In the summer I switch it up to Sun Beam. I love these cream highlighters from Benefit. Finally I sweep Benefit’s Gimme Brow over the eyebrows for definition.

So that is my daily look – all applied in less than 10 minutes and lasts over 12 hours!
