This Weeks #littleloves

This weeks #littleloves comes from Simon!

This week, I’ve been trying to catch up with the pile of DJ Mag‘s that I haven’t gotten around to reading yet! With the move to the East Coast from Birmingham in late November last year, and starting a new job, I just hadn’t had chance to sit down and have a flick! So this week, whilst Charlotte was working late, I stuck some music on, grabbed a beer and got stuck in.

This week, we’ve been bingeing on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ on Netflix! After smashing through all 10 seasons of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, we wanted another comedy sitcom to watch. Charlotte had previously suggested ‘How I Met Your Mother, but I had never fancied it before now. I gave it a try and I’m hooked! The only issue being we’ve almost finished the final season, and now I have no idea what to watch now! Any suggestions?!

As you may have seen in an earlier post, Charlotte bought me a record player last month. As a huge music lover, I couldn’t wait to start building my record collection! When we went to Norwich earlier in the week, I popped into HMV to have a nose at their vinyls. The two I ended up buying were Daft Punk’s ‘Homework’ album from 1997 and Queen’s ‘Greatest Hits’.

I’m a huge electronic music fan, and consider Daft Punk the greatest electronic band ever, so I just had to get this album, much to Charlotte’s annoyance!

I’ve always loved Queen, as my dad is a huge fan, so naturally I was bought up listening to them! This album is full of the classics such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘We Are The Champions’.

Last Sunday, as part of our romantic Valentines weekend, we decided to go for a meal at our wedding venue, Ravenwood Hall, as we had been sent a voucher for £25 off their 3 course ‘a la carte’ menu.

For starters, I had fillet of red mullet with garlic and potato, whilst Charlotte had pan seared scallops with blood orange and brown shrimp butter.

For mains, I had an 8oz sirloin steak, served with chips, tomato and mushroom, and Charlotte opted for Confit duck leg with red cabbage, potato, kale and peppercorn sauce,

Finally, we found room for dessert, I went for Chocolate & orange Arctic roll and Charlotte decided for a pineapple tart tatin.

This was all washed down with a nice pint and a glass of wine!

The food was amazing as always, and such good value for money with the £25 off voucher!!

What were your #littleloves this week? Let us know!

  1. I love How I Met Your Mother! When it finished I really missed binge watching shows like that and reverted back to watching Friends again haha. That’s my only suggestion. I would love to have a record player. I’m really jealous. We had one in a hotel room we stayed in recently and it reminded me how much I love them. What a delicious valentines meal! It all sounds really yummy. x
